"Tat" goes everywhere....

Jennah has never really gotten attached to a favorite blanket or doll/toy. She's got a lot to choose from (all results of very generous grandparents). I would like her to have some sort of attachment to something even if it's just to comfort her, especially at daycare when I'm not around. I'd given up on trying to carry around the same blanket/stuffed animal in hopes that she'd find something special. Well lo and behold, on Wednesday, when we went to leave for "work"... Jennah requested "Tat" to come with us (she's saying "cat", a Build A Bear from Grandpa Dick & Grandma Janet) . I thought "oh great... another toy lugged into the car that will become a perminent add to the clutter of toys already burying the backseat, causing it to resemble her room in its current (& constant) state." Then when we got to Carol's house (the babysitter)... Jennah reached for "Tat" to come too. Carol is totally fine with kids bringing toys... but they must be willing to be shared with others. Well, when I picked Jennah up from daycare, it was reported that NO ONE, I repeat NO ONE was allowed to touch "Tat"... and that was that. Well, on Thursday, Tat had snack with us, went to the park, went down the slide, read books, played with fake food.... yada yada yada... Tat's now in bed with her... and let's just say Tat's fur is feeling a little crusty and is gonna need a bath real soon.

HOUSE UPDATE:
Thursday, we got the beginning stages of a roof...

Friday, we have a roof (good thing, looks like a chance of rain!)...can we move in yet? (this is how we spent date night... staring at our new walls)

What is our obsession, as mothers, with having our child be attached to something??? I'm the same way...with no luck as of yet! Maybe it's because you and I were very attached to a zooie and a nin! The house looks great. Can't wait to see the finished product.

I have AWFUL news for you. One day, you/Jennah/Andy will lose Tat. And all HELL will break loose! Take good pictures of Tat now so you can make a LOST KITTY flyer in a year or two.

We're excited to for Tat's inclusion and bonding. Your house is amazing. What do you feed it to make it grow so fast?

Andy, Beth and Jennah, too! said...

Dad... we feed it this amazing mix called "Casa Grow". Pretty cool stuff!
