Born to Travel

WARNING: the following blog contains a massive amount of pictures... we were gone for a week... deal with it.

We're home from the reunion... and so sad because it's so hot here.
Well, the trip to Washington was GREAT!! Can I just brag... Jennah was the best baby EVER!! This girl was born to travel! We were anticipating what it would be like with a little one on the plane. Everyone has a story about traveling with a little one on the plane, either with their own... or with someone else's ruining the flight. But our little Jennah was an absolute delight. After we got off the plane we were complimented all the way to the baggage claim areas about how well she did on the plane. I was a proud mom (no, that's nothing new).

(side note: I would like to give a shout-out to my friends at Panasonic and Baby Eienstien. Although we've never met... I love you and thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping Jennah have a happy and sane mother.)

We got to spend a little (too little) time at Cousin Tony and Alyssa's house. Tony rocked with a gorgeous slab of salmon and Alyssa made a strawberry shortcake dessert that makes me just drool think of it. It was great to visit with them and also to meet our newest cousin Matt who just got hitched to our cousin Maren.

Who loves a ferry ride?...US! We rode them every chance we could!

Jennah playing with her cousins... Alec, Lia, and Brielle.

Andy's Girls... where they belong

Andy kayaking with Cousin Alan

Jennah conducting her very own Geology lesson....

We visited the Chittindon Locks.... think of it as a "boat elevator".
The whole time we thought "Grandpa Vern should be here!!!"

Jennah's first trip to Pikes' Place Market!... the ONLY place to get smoked salmon!!

Eating ice cream... over looking the ocean... it just doesn't get better than this....

Flying Jennah's 1st kite at Fort Casey Park, Whidbey Island

Visiting Beth's favorite shop... got even better during naptime!
There was some seriously cute things in this shop!

Jennah LOVED being with Grandpa Dick and Grandma Janet!!

Boarding the plane to leave Washington. You can't see it, but Beth's crying... dreading the heat we'll feel when we come back out of this plane (Andy's got a tear in his eye too, taking the picture).

New this evening...
Like Father, Like Daughter...

Jennah loves working on her "numbers"... just like her daddy!

How fun!! We wish we were able to make the reunion, but at least I can live it vicariously through all your blogs!! I'm so happy she was such a great traveller, that made it that much more enjoyable for you and Andy! She's a doll :o)

Beth-
I noticed that you have a sling that you use with Jennah, what brand do you have and how do you like it?? I've been looking into getting one, but I'm not sure how comfy they are.

Thanx,
Julie

Julie,... it's a "maya wrap". I LOVE it! I've got 2 of 'em, one in a twill fabric and one in a t-shirt fabric. They were PERFECT for traveling! The other carriers that went between the legs would leave marks on Jennah's thighs.... these were more comfortable for her (and me!)... here's the website...
