We did it! We didn't do it alone... but it's done... the move is done. Thank goodness. I don't know how much more I could have taken of this silly weather and moving. I'm grateful that painting is an indoor... A/C kind of a job. Otherwise... I don't think I would have made it.
Sorry that it has taken a bit to get this posted... but here's a run-down of what we've been able to accomplish... (if anything it's a way for me to reflect on how excited I am that it's all over!)
July 2oth- Got keys. What a moment. Start creating an intimate bond with "blue" painter's tape
July 21st- Multiple trips to Lowe's ... Painting...taping things off... to paint some more
July 22nd-24- PAINT.. PAINT... watch fridge/washer/dryer get delivered
July 24 night- the MOVE! We actually lucked out and got a bigger truck that we ordered... what a blessing in disguise! I am impressed with how much stuff I fit into a 2 bedroom apartment! (is that a good thing?)
July 25th- Honestly... I don't remember what we did this day... I think I've blocked it from my memory.... I do know that we couldn't move (Andy just reminded me what we did... returned the moving truck and then passed out on my parents' couch)
It's great to feel "at home" with all of our belongings with us. With being a bit transient last week, we kinda felt out of place... I almost would call it a "vacation" feel.... but it was NO WHERE near like being on vacation. Jennah did SOOO well with the move. She loved being around all of the "construction" hoop-lah. Here's a funny picture... naptime.. with no bed to sleep on... IMPROVISE!.... use some rolled up paint tarps! PERFECT!!
Someone told us (thank you Stacy) that when she had moved a 2-year-old, that she thought it was helpful to make the transition by letting the toddler see his/her things go into the moving van and then get unloaded at the new place(rather than go off to a sitter)... it made sense.... and so we did. Jennah helped carry things out and into the new house. A very smooth transition!! What a trooper this girl is! She loves to be involved!
Okay.... so here's some pictures of the new place...

Wow, it's all coming together! What's your new address???
i love the photos--good idea about having the little one carry their belongings into the moving van and then have them take them out and go into their room!!! very good idea!!

Well, I made a comment before the pictures were up so I have to comment again. :) Jennah's room is sooo cute! I love it! And how nice that they landscaped your backyard for you. That will save a huge expense and headache later on. :)
Yea, glad you are moved in. That is so exciting. Love jennah's room, such a fun princess room.
sweet pix of jennah with grandpa!!
Holy Cow! You guys didn't waste any time with the decorating did ya? Did y'all walk around in circles in the house in disbelief while saying "this is ours, this is ours?" That's cool that they did the backyard landscaping... Andy, where's the grill?
We sure wish we could have been part of your move.
Shelley and the kids left this afternoon. We had a great time with them.
We are sure impressed with all the work you guys got done. You've obviously had your noses to the gride stone for some time now.
IT looks FANTASTIC Congratulations!
Congrats, congrats! You will have to help me figure out where you get your energy from. I have a half painted laundry room and zero motivation to finish! I'm excited for you guys, and Jennah's room is darling!!
