The Greatest Show on Earth....

Ladies and Gentlemen...
Children of all ages...

The Normans went to the circus!!! (thanks to a very generous friend who shared the tickets with us.) We had a BLAST!
I can't remember actually going to the circus growing up. My mom was "anti-circus" because of the whole animal thing. I tried to justify our going with thinking..."who could get away with animal cruelty these days?... especially such a public production such as Barnum & Bailey's." I knew Jennah would LOVE all of the animals.

The show didn't start until 7:30, but at 6:00 they had a "meet & greet" with the animals. It goes without saying... we were there, in line, early... with Jennah asking a million (NO exaggeration)... times... "elephants go? where elephants go?" She even had the deaf little boy behind us teaching her the sign for "elephant." In case you didn't know... Jennah has a bit of a "thing" for elephants... we found out once we started taking her to the zoo.

Anyway, when we finally got to go see the animals, Jennah was in "elephant" heaven!
Not only were there about 9 or 10 elephants, but a BABY elephant!
Game. Over. We went over a week ago (Friday) and she is still telling anyone (cashiers, church ladies, doctors, anyone that looks at her) about the BABY elephant that she saw at the circus.
I love it.

Once we were done sweating (wilting) in the heat... we went inside of the arena. It was amazing! It was like there was a pre-party on the stage/floor. We got to meet the clowns... which Jennah wasn't too sure about. And no, the clowns weren't creepy, like I thought they'd be. We also got to get autographs from some of the performers...and then watched the elephant paint... and even got hand tattoos (which finally got removed the other day)!!
And the actual show hadn't even started yet!!!!!
WOW!
We got fabulous seats (3rd row)!! During the show we saw amazing things.... and LOVED every minute of it!
WARNING: Don't try this at home!Jennah officially has found a dream job... "the girl who rides the elephant at the circus."

The baby elephant even had a "debut" performance with his "mama elephant"... I totally got teary eyed watching the two of them walking in... the mom was holding onto his little tail with her trunk. "Barack" the baby elephant (born Jan 19, 2009)... he was so proud to be on stage... you could just tell by watching how eager he was to do his "trick"... he did it before he was even prompted by his trainer!
We can't wait to go again!

It's interesting to see the skeptical look she gives the clown; however; the pretty lady signing the booklet is all good stuff.
