Is it really Wednesday already!??!

Okay, so we had a fabulous 4th of July weekend... as you will soon see. There are TONS of pictures... you may want to get a bucket of popcorn and a soda for this one.

We kicked off our holiday weekend with Cousin Shannyn coming up from the San Diego area. She's always bringing stuff with her...like avocados (by the way she's part of the Fallbrook City Royalty!!) and goodies for Jennah (like magical wands that play music when you push the button... that have to go to bed with us). When I ask Jennah "do you want Shannyn to go with us?" she'll say "uh-huh."

Thursday night we made "chocolate cake cookies" (let me know if anyone needs the recipe... they are like brownies in the shape of a cookie...hazardous to your health). Jennah managed to make it into Shannyn's lap... (wearing the "Princess" shirt she bought for her)... to SHARE cookies and milk. Thanks Shannyn for being so comfortable.
Friday we spent time getting things ready for all of the BBQ parties... Andy, Shannyn, Travis & Valerie headed over to the water park (thanks to Travis' roomate, Luke, who got them free tickets).
Saturday morning, we slept in. We didn't make it to any church breakfasts activities.... let's just say these Normans are SO not morning party people....
...okay, we're not morning ANYTHING people.
Let's be honest.
Carla, my mom's step-sister, came up from Culver City.

This year's 4th of July was a little different than usual. A few weeks ago, when we were snooping around our new house... we ran into a neighbor... who figured out she knew Andy... from KINDERGARTEN! So after we got to talking... she invited us to the block party that she was hosting. So that was party #1, the dinner/BBQ part. Uncle Travis would have flipped his bucket if we didn't come to his "firework" show, aka Party #2. For him, this holiday ranks above birthday and Christmas.

Jennah and I getting ready to head off to Party #1
(please notice the festive outfit Jennah is wearning... we had 3 "costume" changes throught the day, thanks to Travis & Valerie)We had a fabulous time at Party #1... there was a pool for the kids. This is where Jennah made a new friend, Jane... who introduced her to "Barbie." More on the details in a little bit...
There are so many WONDERFUL neighbors in our new place! We loved getting to know them... since we're constantly driving by their homes and looking to see what they've done to their yards and homes. There was even a beagle, "Sparkie"... who Jennah absolutely adored! And the food was fabulous... Jennah was going at it with both hands!... check out the strawberry in her left hand!... Red berry, dipped in white chocolate, and then blue sprinkles! Too cute, red, white and blue! Clever (doesn't take much to get me excited!) When they started to light some fireworks, I was wondering what Jennah would do. All I have to say is that Uncle Travis would have been PROUD!... She stood right in the front row and said "boom boom. Mo-wah" (while she did the sign for the word "more").

Right about then, Uncle Travis called... he was waiting to start "his show!" So we excused ourselves from Party #1 and headed over to Party #2, which was in full force when we arrived.
This is what we saw... hmmm... is that considered legal?

Jennah found Uncle Travis' "STASH"....WHOA....
She's earned the title "Little Miss Firecracker" for sure!!
When Travis wanted a turn holding the firecracker... Jennah pushed him away and told him "no"... Uncle Travie hurry, go buy "mo-wah" fireworks!
All in all... a great 4th of July holiday!

Now that I've caught up, here's what happened today...
Jennah fell IN LOVE with the Barbie from Party #1. "Buh-bar" as she calls her... and the wierd thing is when we were walking through Target tonight... a Disney "Aurora" Princess Barbie doll fell into our basket! (okay, you caught me, I pushed it in!) We couldn't get her out of the box fast enough. Jennah spent the evening caring "Buh-bar" around like a trophy. She even tucked her into the toddler bed (and then jumped into our bed, ha!) Funny girl!Well... that's what we've been up to... and now we do nothing but pack boxes...
so if you don't hear from me for a while, it's because I got into a fight with the packaging tape (and lost) and I'm burried somewhere, under a box... Does anyone have the "Moving Fairy's" phone number?!?!

I had so much fun! Though I didn't get much studying in, I think it helped clear my head so I could finally focus on the work at hand when I got home! That baby has us wrapped around her little finger, and mom and dad will just have to let me fill their recently decluttered stash of stuff with more stuff, and PRINCESS stuff at that!

I live vicariously through your child! haha
